Assault With a Dangerous Weapon (Felonious Assault) – MCL 750.82 – Not Guilty (Jury)
Felony Firearm – MCL 750.227b – Not Guilty (Jury)
On July 21, 2016, the case of People v. Charles Adams went to trial at the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice in Detroit. The defendant, a young man in his twenties, faced a mandatory two-year prison term if convicted of Felonious Assault and Felony Firearm.
During the trial, a police officer testified that the defendant pointed a gun at him. Attorney Jordan’s client denied the allegation and acknowledged lying to police about being at the scene.
After hearing the testimony, the jury deliberated for less than ten minutes before returning Not Guilty verdicts on both charges.
