Multiple Violent Felonies — Not Guilty (Bench Trial)

A 26-year-old man faced multiple serious felony charges, including Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm, Unlawful Intent with a Dangerous Weapon, and Felony Firearm. If convicted, he faced the possibility of a lengthy prison sentence — even life.
His court-appointed attorney focused only on plea negotiations and told him he would likely serve many years in prison. Believing he needed a real defense, the client and his mother sought private counsel. Several attorneys dismissed them — until they called attorney Carl Jordan, who approached the case with a trial-focused strategy.
After reviewing the evidence, attorney Jordan determined the client would have a better chance with a bench trial rather than a jury. A waiver of jury trial was filed, and the case proceeded before a judge.
As a result of attorney Jordan’s defense, the judge found the defendant Not Guilty of all major felony charges. The only remaining count — brandishing a firearm in public — was treated as a misdemeanor, resulting in one year of probation.
